What’s Ubud Penestanan Like?

Known as an artist’s village since the 1930s, Penestanan is home to vast tracts of rice fields, tranquil back streets, and a wide array of cafes. With a slightly higher elevation, some spots offer spectacular views of Bali’s tallest and most sacred volcano, Mount Agung. Just a three-minute ride to the center of town, it’s one of Ubud’s most accessible traveler hubs.

Jesse

Our General Manager, Jesse, has lived in Bali now for nearly 10 years and speaks some Bahasa. You may find him early in the morning giving Hindu offerings. Ask him about Balinese culture or anything you like — he loves sharing stories.

Putra

As our coliving coordinator, Putra may be the first one to greet you during your stay with us. He knows Penestanan better than anyone, so he'll help you get around as well as meet other colive members in our space.

Mabel

As our experience coordinator, Mabel will introduce you to our thriving nomad community here in Penestanan. As an avid diver herself, she curates new experiential and educational events for members each week.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Canggu and Ubud?

Think yoga and granola vs surf and turf, both good in their own way!

What’s the difference between your three Ubud locations?

Ubud Penestanan is where coworking and coliving sit under the same roof. Outpost Ubud is our original coliving property with a separate coworking – where it all began in 2016. We like to think of it as our headquarters now. The newest spot in town is Outpost Ubud Bungalows with 10 private Balinese-style bungalow rooms, located just a 6 minute walk from our coworking HQ.

Do I get access to your cowork with my colive booking?

Yes. If you book direct, you will get an unlimited coworking pass added to your booking at a members-only discounted rate. You are also able to upgrade your stay with a cowork pass when you check-in at our colive.

Are pets allowed in the coliving spaces?

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in our coliving rooms at this time. Although we’d love to see your furry friend, we try to respect the allergies of our members in the shared coliving.

How can I enter Bali?

If you are one of these countries, you can get a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at Bali’s International Airport or apply for an E-VOA (Electronic Visa on Arrival) before your arrival. The visa will cost 500,00 IDR or approximately 35 USD and is valid for 30 days (extendable once for another 30 days).

If you’re looking to stay long term in Bali, we would suggest to apply for a Business Visa through an official visa agency. The entire process might take 5-6 days in total and agents usually charge between $300 – $400 per visa application. If you’re an Outpost member who has purchased a cowork pass or booked colive, you can get 10% visa services from LegalLegends Bali.

If you’re fully vaccinated (2 doses Moderna/Pfizer/Astra or 1 dose J&J), then you don’t need any PCR test to show on arrival. However, if you are partially vaccinated, you must show a antigen test 24 hours prior or a PCR test 72 hours prior to entry.

How can I connect with other members?

Connection is one of our core values. Along with all the weekly events that we host in our spaces, we have a very active online community on our Outpost Member Hub and social media channels. You’ll be automatically invited to our Member Hub after purchasing a cowork pass or booking your colive with us.

What is your booking policy?

We offer two types of rates when booking with us: a non-refundable rate and a refundable rate.

Our non-refundable rate gives you the best value we can offer. Unfortunately, this reservation cannot be refunded, exchanged, or the dates modified once purchased. You’re more than welcome to always transfer it to another person to enjoy if you’d like.

Our refundable rate allows you to fully refund your booking up to 14 days before your arrival date. We totally understand that circumstances may change quickly. If you’d like a refund, just send us a message:

Refer to your booking confirmation to know which rate you purchased in addition to our terms and conditions. Please note that refunds may take up to 3 weeks to process.
